Hopi silversmith Manuel Hoyungowa excelled in using the silver overlay technique. He learned silver making from his uncle, noted artist Preston Monongye, and he studied at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, NM. This belt buckle is a fine example of his work.
