How I wish I knew the story behind this basket and the little cup that clearly was by the same weaver when originally collected! This Pima tray with small seed beads is very finely woven and the combination of the little blue seed beads and the whirlwind design project the feeling of joy. The quality cannot be overstated.

This basket originally was sold at Sotheby's in their May 1995 sale. It came to Marcy Burns American Indian Arts 2 years later and was accompanied by the little pictorial cup with the same beads. It has been residing in a terrific basket collection since then. Beautiful and very special.
