The Zuni began making jewelry in channel inlay in the 1930s. This pair of earrings is an early example. The earrings were likely converted to posts at some time in its history, which does not affect their value (they can be converted back to screwbacks if the purchaser desires). After World War II, they generally began using coral rather than spandela, although contemporary Zuni jewelry often uses spandela.

The open triangle adds a very interesting dimensionality to the design. The work is of excellent quality, as is condition.
