This Mono basket is very appealing. It was probably packed away in storage for much of its life as the patina is very soft and pleasing. The boat-shaped form is one that was used throughout the region. Stitch and coil count are very tight. The native-repair is well-done and also appealing, in its own way, being consistent with native origin and use. We are pleased to be able to offer this basket to collectors and others who appreciate fine Californian basketry.
