This is an amazing basket preserved in amazing condition. A gorgeous example of a Yavapai basket.

The Yavapai Indians are cousins to the Western Apache Indians. Their baskets are quite similar. The Yavapai tended to weave in very symmetrical designs while the Apache often are more free with the design elements.
