The Nez Perces Indians lived in Idaho, Washington State, and adjoining areas of Canada. They were migratory and were horse traders
to the Plains Indians.
The basketry they wove were used in utilitarian and ceremonial ways. Naturally, being migratory, they made great use of twined bags.
This is a beautiful example and is in original remarkable condition.
