The Pomos of Centarl California are considered to be among the finest basketry weavers in the world.

They wove and continue to weave twined baskets, including some very intricate forms of twining, and coiled baskets, including single- rod and three-rod baskets. This basket is a fine example of a single-rod coiled basket.

Figural baskets have always been highly desirable in the marketplace. This basket has what appears to be a single male dancing with 4 other male dancers whose hands are joined (commonly referred to as a "friendship" basket.

The basket has 6 red beads woven into it, presumably as a "signature".
