During the 1930s-1950s, the Navajo began producing concho belts whose elements were smaller in size than those in the preceding periods. The silver used was sterling silver (.925) and as this example clearly illustrates, the workmanship often was superb. This belt is particularly appealing with wonderful detail in the stanping and chiseling.

Many women today wear these concho belts as necklaces.
