It is increasingly difficult to find early rings such as this on the marketplace. This particular ring is a recent acquisition by us and we are pleased to be able to offer it to collectors.
The Navajo did not begin adding stones to their jewelry until approximately 1900. The artist was usually working in a relatively isolated location, using hand-made tools. He fired over a fire of his own making rather than a formal kiln like is available in today's world.
In this environment, the Navajo silversmith produced works of great technical difficulty, including using repousse', such as is illustrated in this wonderful ring.
*Rings such as this can usually be sized to fit. Please contact our gallery to discuss this further.
