This brooch has amazingly beautiful design and workmanship. The provenance is impeccable, allowing us to date the brooch to 1958.
In Silver Seduction: The Art of Mexican Modernist ANTONIO PINEDA, Gobi Stromberg illustrates several pieces of jewelry by Antonio that have trumpet-like dangles of silver and amethyst, most of which also "move", all from the same period (catalog #132, p. 115; #133, p. 116; #s 134-137, p. 117).
