Los Ballesteros link bracelet
sterling silver
6 1/4" long (or 7 3/8" with the extra link) by 1 1/8" wide
ex: private collector who purchased the bracelet at Taller
de los Ballesteros in the 1950s
(J1881)
$850.

The quality of the workmanship as well as the design of this bracelet are excellent. While Ballesteros is not as well known as the major artists of the early Taxco revival of jewelry designing and production, his work consistently stands out. He apprenticed with Spratling before opening his own Taller.

This bracelet shows the blending of traditional Mayan and contemporary design. One link was removed from the bracelet by the private collector and can easily be reattached.
