Mark Tahbo is descended from Grace Chapella, a matriarch of Hopi pottery. This particular pot honors designs used by Grace Chapella.  It is finely made and painted.

Mark Tahbo has won numerous awards at the Heard Museum Annual Indian Fair, including Best of Division in 1992, and at the Santa Fe Indian Market, including Indian Market's Overall Prize in 1991.
