Hopi Polacca polychrome shallow bowl
with Polik Mana image
circa 1880-1890s
8" diameter by 1 1/4" deep
excellent condition
no provenance available
P0472
$4800.

This pot is beautifully formed and coiled. It was clearly made by one of the great Hopi potters working at this time, possibly Nampeyo.

The fine crackle identifies this pot as being from the Polacca period. Please note how
innovative the styling of the tableta is while the potter still maintains fundamental tradition.
