This Late Classic Navajo serape is stunningly beautiful. It is finely woven with 10 warps per inch and it has survived the years without noticeable fading or condition issues. The design is reminiscent of earlier blankets but, of course, the synthetic red dye dates the blanket to the 1870s. It might very well have been woven by a weaver who was working a decade earlier.

It is without question “art” in and of itself.

Blankets such as this rarely come on the market. We urge you to contact us promptly if you have interest in it. We will be featuring it in our booth at the upcoming Delaware Antiques Show and will bring it with us to the upcoming AADLA show in New York, in which Schillay Fine Art and I are sharing a booth.
