Navajo Two Gray Hills blankets are distinguished by their beautiful white, gray, tan, and brown color combinations with a large central concentric diamond design framed by a contrasting border. Note that the four design elements in the four corners of the central design field reflect the shape of the Navajo traditional home, the hogan, and are framed by hook designs (probably influenced by nearby
Crystal Trading Post designs, in turn influenced by kilim designs). Two Gray Hills textiles are also noted for being finely woven, as is true for this textile.
This is a strikingly beautiful textile
that descended in a Pennsylvania family.
