Pueblo blankets are rarely found in the marketplace. The Pueblo Indians usually wove textiles for their own use, most commonly articles of clothing worn during ceremonies.
This is a vivid and beautifully woven blanket. It descended in its original collecting family and was treated well by them.
The dynamic design and use of colors lift this textile to the level of fine art. It is much more striking in person than in the photograph.
