Correspondence by William Benson to Grace Nicholson, a dealer in American Indian art from Pasadena, CA.. Compiled by the editor, Maria del Carmen Gasser.

A publication of assembled letters from William Benson to Grace Nicholson, shedding insight into the sale of baskets and lives of William Benson and his wife, Mary Knight Benson.  Grace Nicholson paid a stipend to the Bensons for many years, enabling them to devote themselves to weaving baskets. Their basketry was superb and remains highly cherished.

This was a publication by the editor that had very limited distribution. We were able to acquire several copies of this work not long after the time of publication and now are delighted to offer the book to collectors and scholars of Pomo basketry.
