Dora Pse-Pe is highly recognized as one of the masters and innovators of contemporary San Ildefonso pottery. Born in Zia where she learned pottery making from her mother, Dora began working with Rose Gonzales, her mother-in-law, after she moved to San Ildefonso. She learned to carve (incise) pottery from Rose and she was also inspired by the work of Popovi Da and Tony Da, as is evident by her use of combining several types of clay and using turquoise stones to embellish the design.
