Start is plaited in a square out of devil’s claw. The rim is whipstitched out of devil’s claw.
The weaving material appears to be willow and devil’s claw with a grass bundle foundation.

This basket is clearly Southwestern in origin and it comes either from the Tohono O’odham or Akimel O’odham, related tribes living in Arizona. The design is strong, with intriguing male figures on what appears to be a platform or a swing alternating with women standing on the ground. It is priced very reasonably and would make a fine addition to a private collection.
