Rondina Huma was born Keams Canyon and has lived in Polacca since childhood. She learned pottery as a child and she has been recognized for her skill in pottery making as well as her artistry in designs which reflects designs she has seen on Historic Hopi pots. These depictions in her pottery are complex in their arrangement.
Rondina makes pottery in the traditional manner, coiling, smoothing the slip and then polishing the pot with a stone. She paints the designs using native clays and beeweed. She fires her pots in the traditional manner, over an open fire.
