20th anniversary National Museum of American Indian in NYC

The National Museum of the American Indian is celebrating its founding in 1989 and its New York City location at the Customs House with a 20th Anniversary Gala and new exhibit.

The Gala event is a seated dinner with Native-inspired food along with the awarding of new NMAI awards. To participate or donate, go to this link: http://nmai.si.edu/anniversaries/gala-ny.html

The exhibit that will be opening is "Glittering World: Navajo Jewelry of the Yazzie Family". To learn more, go to http://nmai.si.edu/explore/exhibitions/item/?id=890

The catalog for the exhibit was written by Lois Sherr Dubin. Entitled Glittering World, it is a review of Navajo jewelry over time through the focus of Yazzie family jewelry.
